Currículum breve:
Me doctoré en la Universidad de Oviedo en enero de 2000. He disfrutado de una larga trayectoria como investigador postdoctoral entre el año 2000 y 2009: en el ETH Zürich (2000-01), en la Universidad de Manchester (2001-2006) y la Universidad de Liverpool (2006-2009). En 2009 me incorporé a la Universidad de Oviedo como contratado Ramón y Cajal, luego continué como Profesor Contratado Doctor hasta 2016 donde cambié a Profesor Titular y desde 2023 soy Catedrático de Universidad en el área de Geodinámica Interna. Entre 2016 y 2018 he sido Director del Departamento de Geología. He participado como investigador en más de 24 proyectos de investigación, tanto nacionales como internacionales, en 11 de ellos como IP. Tengo publicados más de 75 artículos científicos, 39 en revistas internacionales indexadas. He sido editor principal del volumen especial nº 394 de la Sociedad Geológica de Londres, entre 2019 y 2021 fui editor asociado de la revista Heliyon de Elsevier. Entre 2020 y 2023 formé parte del comité editorial de la revista Geology, número 1 en Geociencias. He participado en numerosos congresos nacionales y sobre todo internacionales donde he presentado más de 124 comunicaciones, 17 de ellas orales y en 3 ocasiones como orador invitado. Reviso regularmente artículos científicos en 16 revistas internacionales y 3 nacionales. Evalúo con regularidad proyectos de investigación para varias agencias de investigación científica, tanto españolas (ANEP o MINECO) como internacionales (NSF americana o ERC europea). He sido director principal de la tesis doctoral de Marco A. López Sánchez (2013) y de Manuel de Paz Álvarez (2023) y codirector de la tesis de Jorge Acevedo Sánchez (2021).
