Geology will be present in IYCR-2014: International Year of Crystallography
Throughout all 2014, numerous activities take place on the Crystallography
The year 2014 has been proclaimed as the International Year of Crystallography, IYCr2014. To commemorate it has formed a working group from various institutions have launched a number of initiatives that can be viewed on the web: http://www.iycr2014.info/
In this group, two members of the Department of Geology-M ª Ángeles Fernández and Luis Terente-who are preparing various outreach activities for the year 2014.
As a first initiative we highlight the School competition "Crystallization at School", which participates Angeles Fernández.
Also, the Geological Museum has prepared a virtual tour, where virtually geological samples shown: minerals, rocks, fossils, structures ... this way are illustrated concepts, phenomena and processes of interest to the general geology and crystallography in particular.
