Interlibrary Loans
- Descripción
The Interlibrary Loan is an institutional service designed to grant access to originals and copies of documents not present in the Library of the University of Oviedo (BUO) itself, but which can be found in other institutions.
- Colectivo solicitante
Any BUO user, although it has been specially designed for researchers and students from Master's Degrees and Postgraduate Studies.

The average lending period, from the moment the interlibray loan is requested until it arrives at the library, depends on the location, the supplying library and the means of transportation requested. In general, this period may last from 24 hours to a fortnight.

- Formas de notificación
Both the obtaining and the denial of the items requested will be notified to the requester, preferably by the e-mail address by the phone provided by the user.

In each of the centres offering this service:
Central Library, Library of Social and Legal Sciences, Library of Medicine, Library of Chemistry, Library of Geology, Library of Sciences, Library of the Higher Technical School of Mine Engineering, and Library of Technology and Business.

Requests for interlabrary loans may be done either in person or online.
- In person
The user will need to go to the premises of the Bibliographical Information Service and discuss with the person in charge the relevant aspects related to the loan (which copy is being request, price, etc.)
- Online
The user will need to fill in and send the valid Interlibrary Loan Online Form. Users will need to have an username and password in order to acces the university network to make their request online. If they do not have access, they can request it following this link.
